Dr. Tim Lahn is a Chiropractor who proudly serves the Barrie area. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College magna cum laude in 2016. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Toronto, where he specialized in Human Biology, and graduating with High Distinction. He also attended the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy, and received a diploma in Massage Therapy.
Dr. Tim uses a number of different techniques in his treatments, including chiropractic adjustments, contemporary medical acupuncture, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, and cold laser therapy. Just as every patient he sees is different, his treatments are all carefully designed to match the individual needs of his patients. Tim is also proficient at teaching rehabilitative exercises, and encourages all his patients to be an active participant in their own recovery.
Dr. Lahn is a strong believer that there is always more information to learn, so he regularly attends courses and seminars, as well as dedicating hours to study and research at home in order to stay up to date with the most current knowledge, and continue to provide the best care possible to those who entrust him with their health. In his free time, he is an avid musician, and enjoys spending time with his family.
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada
Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with an estimated 77,000 Canadians living with the disease. While it is most often diagnosed in young adults aged 20 to 49, younger children and older adults are also diagnosed with the disease.
MS is currently classified as an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves). The disease attacks myelin, the protective covering of the nerves, causing inflammation and often damaging the myelin. Myelin is necessary for the transmission of nerve impulses through nerve fibres. If damage to myelin is slight, nerve impulses travel with minor interruptions; however, if damage is substantial and if scar tissue replaces the myelin, nerve impulses may be completely disrupted, and the nerve fibres themselves can be damaged.
